'Sonho das Flores' is a musical exploration about panpsychism - the ancestral idea that other organisms and even inorganic matter and minerals forming the body of the Earth are inherently gifted with a kind of vital force or universal conscience.

The acknowledgment of life throughout diverse earth systems can act as a re-enchantment strategy that has always been present on native cosmologies all around the world. The Yanomami’s origin myth, for example, foresees the 'falling sky', an event that happens from the violation of Earth’s body by the “white man” through mining, producing epidemic clouds that they call ‘Xawara’.

The album was recorded on the city of Felixlândia and its surrounding areas, in Minas Gerais, Brazil, where I’ve been working with riverside communities that have had their ways of life eroded by the disruption of a dam built by the mining multinational VALE in Brumadinho in 2019.

This album is an image of voices springing from the earth. A prayer between the death of a father and the birth of a son. The dream of a new spring composed of plants, stones, rivers, and animals. It’s a homage to the Sun.
